Both parties are participants in continuing our form of feudalism. Democracy is dying in empty words under the onslaught of billionaire elites on either side of the aisle. Perhaps it has always been an illusion.

However, the indentured wage slaves were better off in the '60s after the FDR reforms and GI benefits granted for their bloody sacrifice for rich corporations.

We have been living an illusion bolstered by our propaganda.

Too much equalizing with "both parties" and "either side of the aisle" for me to agree. I rarely listen to politicians. I read what people I respect say about what politicians accomplish.

The net outcome since the 1980's is a result of decisions from both parties.

Income inequality, healthcare and housing costs, war involvement, etc., etc. are the result of the last 45 years of administrations by both parties.

Net outcome? Sure the net outcome is the sum of all contributions. Now break down the contributions of Democrats and Republicans. Don’t make a bland and blanket false equivalence.

Peter Turchin and his colleagues created the database driven field of historical analysis and prediction called Cliodynamics.

It states the biggest drivers for the downfall of civilization include income inequality and the crowding of elites, creating internecine conflict at the top. We are now in an extreme situation with one of the largest income gaps ever, most income in the hands of billionaires, and the largest billionaire class we have ever had.

Add to that the stress of the climate disaster and migration pressure, and we are running headlong into a disaster.

There is no question I prefer Dems over GOP in their choices.

But I wish they had not kneecapped Bernie Sanders. I am fully behind him.

Their stance on the Israel/Palestinean genocide has been atrocious. They participated in the legalized extortion that has become our healthcare system with all participants. They were asleep at the wheel as the GOP got control of states with gerrymandering and staffing the courts.

Instead of fighting they tried to be collegial and incurred one political loss after another. They did not learn the lessons year after year.

I could go on...
